Composites Team

The composites team focuses on material testing and different additive manufacturing processes that can be used in future solar car development. By continuing to innovate on conventional 3d printing technology, we hope to harness its unique advantages to produce a fully 3d printed monocoque chassis. From large format printing, to non-planar slicing, we are continuing to explore the limits of this manufacturing process. The team's current focus is on thermoplastic research and characterization.

Team Positions:

• Mechanical Engineer: Student position focused on material characterization. This involves imperially testing materials, FEA (Specifically for parts manufactured with the FDM process), and CAD design.
